Amityville Memorial High School students who participated in a summer medical program were recognized at the district’s Board of Education meeting on Jan. 12.

Ten Amityville Memorial High School students attended the two-week Health Careers Academic and Readiness Excellence program through the School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. HCARE is designed to give high school students an introduction to various professions in the health care field. 

HCARE administrator, Erik Flynn, attended the board meeting to present certificates and white coats to the participants. He then led the students in the white coat oath.
